Everyone has those things in their lives they are passionate about. For me two of those things are hockey and wine, so this time of year is one of my favorites. I wanted to find a way to merge the two together into one event. A way to bring my hockey world and my wine world crashing together just to see what happens. With that goal in mine the Stanley Cup of wine was born.
Before I go any further I need to explain some hiccups that have occurred in my plan and what I have done to resolve them. When I started putting the #StanleyCupOfWine together I found a wine for every team so I could order them in for the second round. When I eventually went to order the wines there were 3 of them on back order. I waited a few days hoping they would get in stock, but in the end there was still 1 that I couldn’t get. Instead of waiting any longer I decided to make the second round wines match the second round of the NHL teams. This only required changing 2 wines out of 8 (Washington instead of Boston, and Philadelphia instead of Pittsburgh). For everyone that voted for Boston and Pittsburgh I apologize that I wasn’t able to get those wines in.
Now on to the second round of the Stanley cup of wine.
